Technical
Allegiance uses somewhat complex features in order to enhance the gaming experience.
As such, the different software that are in use are detailed here
so that even the most ignorant of computer users can benefit from
them.
Technical 1: TeamSpeak
2: Used by many community members, TeamSpeak 2
is one of many programs that allow vocal communication
using a microphone, and transmitting your voice after
coding it with various codecs. Although its use is
straightforward, this page also contains essential
server information.
Technical 2: SOVRoute:
Although the use of this software has not been necessary
in a long time, it could be. This is an emergency
program that allows users to play even if the lobby
goes down (as it did back in the MS days) by connecting
directly to servers using the game's LAN function.
Technical 3: SOVLogin:
SOVLogin is one of the anti-cheat authentication software
that you have to use in order to play the game online.
It also includes many options to log your chats, capture
screenshots, etc. This lesson takes you through these
options and also introduces a software that increases
SOVLogin's chat log usefulness.
Technical 4: Server: Setting
up a server is not only up to the few generous server
admins we have around. Any player looking to play
alone and practice his command skills, or simply start
a game to play around with specific aspects of the
game, will need to be able to get a server installed
properly and start your game properly.
Technical 5: GUI
Modification: Community members have come up with
highly original and useful ways to change the way
Allegiance appears, creating both aesthetically elegant
and functionally useful designs.
