SOVLogin was written by SOV_Vencain during the post-Microsoft period. It allowed the community to finally have a new authentication system, and also incorporated an anti-cheat system to prevent people from modifying the core for themselves (like mounting nukes on scouts) or from CrashGuarding (by displaying unknown chats as "Unknown Chat").

This software provides you with many utilities.

Authentication

Although no longer functional, SOVLogin provided users with a Login name and password that was unique to them. Note that SOVLogin is now controlled by ASGS, but still controls the Allegiance logging. Therefore, make sure your name and password are the same as those in ASGS.

Command Line at Launch

SOVLogin allows you to change the command line without actually changing the line in your shortcut. It is thus faster to use. The most popular command lines are -nomovies, which prevents the Allegiance movie from launching (CD users only), and the -windowed line, launching Allegiance in windowed mode (requires 16-bit color setting).

Produce message logs

SOVLogin logs every chat message when the proper options are selected. It can either log the chat appearing in the chatbox, or it can record both the chat box text and the bottom screen text (event text). Note that you can change the font of this log as well as its limit. SOVLogin automatically produces 1 file each day. You can also strip color codes from chats, an option added since many players were using color codes in their callsigns and team names, coloring a variety of chats and making themselves impossible to PM to.

Orion has designed the AllegianceLogger, allowing you to quickly search through your SOVLogin logs. Simply browse to the folder containing your SOVLogin logs, type a word, and search. If you want AllegianceLogger to search for multiple words, the exclusive option allows you to either find lines containing all words (option checked), or lines containing one of the words (option unchecked). Note that words must be separated by a comma.

Produce screen captures

SOGLogin allows you to take screenshots without having to save each screenshot at a time from your computer's clipboard. Indeed, it immediately produces an image file, allowing you to take many pictures quickly without ever having to Alt-Tab out of Allegiance. You can select options for SOVLogin to produce a jpeg image with varying quality, or to produce a 32bit high quality bitmap image.
