Stations - Special Refinery
|
Global Properties - Specialty Mines
- GigaCorp used to be the only faction possessing this technology. Indeed, they
can build Carbon, Silicon and Uranium refineries on these respective
types of asteroids, and receive large amounts of credits every minute.
- In order to build those, they must first be researched in the garrison.
- The GigaCorp special refineries, like most GigaCorp secondary stations,
are very easy to destroy. In order to allow for better defense, GigaCorp
has implemented ripcord technology in their special refineries, allowing
them to serve as teleport receivers.
- The recently arrived Dreghklar Empire also possesses special refinery
technology, but operates on different asteroids. Indeed, they can
build them on He3 asteroids, and receive a nice, but not as large,
amount of money, which is now fixed at 750$ / min. These refineries
also are weak, but do not possess ripcord technology.
Using the special refinery
- GigaCorp's special refineries are often essential to ensure their supremacy,
since the faction relies on its extreme economical power. It is recommended
to either research and use the type of mine that pays the most, or
the one that uses the rocks of the same type of your enemy's technology.
Indeed, consuming technology asteroids of your enemy will make it
difficult for him to rebuild his technology station, should he ever
have to during the game. Also, try to avoid using asteroids of the
type of your technology station, since you want to keep your options
open, should you need to rebuild it.
- Giga's spec refs also serve as teleport receivers. They cannot be built anywhere,
but using the home tech rock for placing a refinery/teleport is always
useful, since it provides the team with a home teleport, as well as
providing a relatively secure income station to the team.
- Dreg's He3 refineries are usually not used, since the research costs are
considered too high compared to the income provided. If used, it is
recommended that they are built on empty He3 asteroids, so that you
use miners to get all the He3, then build the ref to receive income
every minute.
- If you are to use Dreg's He3 mines, make sure they are well-defended,
and are in high enough numbers so that they are worth their
research cost. The Dreghklar Empire is very strong, but are
pulled back by their economy. Allowing them to be extremely
rich (using spec refs) will make them even more dangerous.
