Outpost Properties
- Outposts serve no research purpose. They serve solely as an establishment point
for the team, increasing accessibility.
- Miners can also dock at those station and unload their He3 load.
Exceptional properties
- There are 3 types of outposts: heavy, regular and light. Heavy outposts
can only be destroyed by base-destruction means, outposts can be galved,
and light outposts are harmed by many weapons and missiles. Also,
outposts have stronger hulls and shields than light outposts.
Using the outpost
- Outposts allow ships to launch from and dock to, so ships don't need the ripcord
ability. Place them at key locations, where they must block a part
of the map, and to allow the sector to be mined by your miners.
- Outposts are part of tactics, like the IC Op rush. They also serve as a great
expansion tool, being the strongest base point after technology bases.
- If you use interceptors, make sure all exposed sectors (those
that connect to unsecured sectors) contain outposts, allowing
your interceptors to easily defend your territory.
