Back in the AZ days, Microsoft relied partly on players to perform in-game moderation in the Microsoft Gaming Zone. Such players were asked to lead by example and report disruptive players to Microsoft administrators. Those players could wear a special tag appending their callsign: @Alleg to identify the Zone Chancellors for Allegiance. (Other tags used were @Zone)

With the advent of the Allegiance Secure Gameplay System by Pook, the @Alleg were brought back under a new form. The initial group was setup by Pook. They are chosen to lead by example and enforce the Rules of Conduct.

The @Allegs are currently lead by +BlackViper@Zone. If you have an issue concerning in-game actions, contact him directly with a PM on the Free Allegiance forums.

The ? token @Alleg's use the ASGS (Authenticated Secure Gaming System) Enforcer tool, allowing them to perform the following functions:

• TAG a game with a special code for later review
• View all players currently logged in ASGS
• View the last ban a player has received
• Record a player as warned so all other enforcers see that this player has been warned
• Report a player to an administrator
• Send a private message to a player
• Ban a player from ASGS for a time that goes from 0 minutes to 15 minutes, or for an automatically incremented time based on the infraction. A ban is reported on Free Allegiance.

The primary function of the @Alleg is to help new players with gameplay questions while in game. Their secondary role is enforcement.

With the move to Zone Leads for leadership roles in different areas of our community, they may choose to function as @Allegs, but using the + token and @Zone tag. It is their option to participate or not.
