Game Stats

The first encounter between the System ¤ and the German Borg finally occurred today on March 7th, 2004, in a squad game that opposed JimmyNighthawk@GB's Rixians to Grey_Slayer@SysX's Rixians.

There was an impressive show, with peak numbers of 17 pilots per side, leading to an intense game between both Rixian teams, which was amplified by the fact that both teams had a home Carbon asteroid, which is quite a coincidence (the odds of this happening are 1/9). The match took place on Grid.

SysX sent a fighter squadron high in front of its escorted outpost, hoping to encounter the enemy outpost and destroy it. However, GB sent its own outpost mid-high, also building forward. SysX immediately proceeded to rape their enemy's miners, which they did quite successfully, enhancing their capacity by quickly getting a home supremacy center and Enh. Figs. GB soon lost all or nearly all of their miners, and were unable to get a supremacy center. Unfortunately, JimmyNighthawk@GB dropped very early in the game, and Grimmwolf had to command for the beginning, possibly taking upon actions that were incompatible with Jimmy's plans.

As SysX was busy raping miners, GB mounted a massive assault of one ballista and ~9 Nans behind it attacking SysX' forward outpost. SysX immediately purchased minepack1 to mount on its fighters, and launched an attack on the ballista itself. The minepacks, along with 14 fighters firing on the ballista, led to its destruction, although many GB complained of a strange lag spike as this occurred, possibly caused by the immense amount of players and both teams's minepacks being dropped all over the place.

As SysX was discussing that GB should use at least 2 bombers to stand a chance, two ballistas entered the outpost's sector with as many Nans However, the outcome was the same, as GB experienced some lag and both ballistas got destroyed effectively by SysX fighters who respected their instructions to the letter.

A few more minutes and a few more miners unloading at base, and SysX purchased an adv. Sup, adv Figs. and galvs, proceeding to destroy every single part of GB's expansion in a few minutes. GB built a home Sup around the same time. As such, GB was left with a home Garr and Sup, and nothing else, with a few SysX fighters looking for an easy kill.

SysX proceeded to bring the finishing touch to the game. An EXP was purchased but never used. Three bombers were sent to the enemy home in a tight formation, with six upgraded (not fully, unfortunately) turrets, and about six Nans The ballistas encountered some resistance but obliterated it quickly. The EW Stingers tore down the GB stations and the game ended there.

The game was fun on both sides, with the impressive show of players being today's highlight.
