The maximum rank allowed on the Official Newbie Servers will be lowered from (7) to (4) at the end of January 2008.

Google it! - 6 September, 2007
I am trying an experiment. Google offers a custom search engine for nonprofit web sites. It is now linked on the menu to the left in the Lesson
section of the menu.
FAO's Wiki is coming together - 5 September, 2007
The long awaited Wiki (see link on menu to the left) for the FAO forums is being worked
on now. We have agreed to move most of the community section of this site to the wiki where it will be maintained
by the Wiki editors. The Academy will still be the source for all gameplay information.
The rewrite of the new Cadet "new player" course is in process. All of the course and material will be available
for public viewing here when it is completed. The current crash course /advanced section will be rewritten and
restructured.
The main root menu has been updated to reflect some of those changes. (There is a submenu that you will see on subpages that
will not be updated for awhile). So the original links will work on the submenus. All of the original pages will
be kept as backups for the wiki

The Free Allegiance Forums are experiencing issues - 21st August AM
We are aware of the 404 access problem. Simply put, we have been shutdown by our host again for CPU usage.
Thalgor, Tigereye and myself are exploring all possiblities. We might have to move the forums to a dedicated box.
At least this way we can track down what is using so much CPU usage. More details as we know more. Unfortunately
this might take a few days. Cadet classes may not start this weekend. You will be notified via email if that happens. -BV

Historical Archives - January 21, 2007
A new section is being added to the site. Under the community section on the menu is a link
Historical Archives. This section will include material
from the BETA, the original DataNet posts, timeline, fan fiction and material on the original Dev Team.

AllegNationals are about to kick off this weekend. January 13, 2007
The AllegNationals are a yearly national team based tournament league, composed of two divisions of
four teams each, for a total of 8 teams involving almost 200 players. Each team is set against each other
in a series of twenty rigorous games in the course of the 7 month season. If you think you've liked playing t
he occasional pickup game during the week, you'll be overjoyed playing with a large team of players that's
trained itself to work together under a very experienced commander.
JG Baxter has put a lot of time and effort into organizing this tournament. He has done a great job!
