The information provided on each faction finds its source in
experience and in the ICE program (core editor) and from
the Allegiance Command School (ACS). All of the information is
subject to change because of the multiple changes occurring as
the game is balanced. Global statements, however, should remain
the same as they constitute an integral part of Allegiance's identity.
Allegiance is special in that the many factions are completely different from one
another. Where many games have totally identical or totally analog factions,
Allegiance offers extreme variety by providing the choice between 9 (and
counting!) different factions. Of course, this adds to the extreme complexity
of Allegiance, making the game deeper, and that much more fun.
Belters have a unigue advantage over all of the other factions. Normally if a tech base
is destroyed, the faction loses all of the Mk II tech and the ships. Belters does not. Remember,
if a base is destroyed before a particular tech (or base upgrade) has finished researching, that tech must
be researched again if the base is rebuilt.
