Rixians have a 12 second research time, which means that by the time
they have the money and the stations, they can develop anything
available. Bomber research is available upon the start of the
game, and so is the nanite repair system. Therefore, scouts
can equip Nans, and a bomber can launch, very early.
The tactic consists of having a launch point for the bomber, and
then have all scouts serve as Nans for the assault at the enemy's
home. The tactic can also be done with other Factions, but a
little slower.
Have all scouts deploy as they normally would, but make sure everyone carries
a nanite repair system in cargo. Also, have a teleport receiver build
next to the enemy's home. This will require an escort, mostly if you're
up against the Dreghklar Empire or the Iron Coalition, since they have
light interceptors upon start.
As soon as the teleport receiver builds, have all your
team ripcord to the Teleport, and equip their Nans Any scout that dies
must be picked up and ripcord back as a Nan. You now have a turreted
Ballista with all the team nanning it, a major assault against the
enemy home.
Adaptation of the strategy for map InsideOut
InsideOut is a special map, since it has a complex array of sectors, but
the adversaries' homes are only separated by one sector. This
rush must be carried out the exact same way, but no teleport
receiver is required for the Rixians, since they can ripcord
to scouts. Have the bomber launch, with a few Nans. When it is
close to the enemy's home, have all scouts ripcord to the bomber
(to the scouts nearby the bomber), and your assault is ready.
Dangers of this tactic
If the rush fails, most of the team will find itself podded,
and retrieving them is critical. Having a scout or two stay behind
for pickup is not a bad idea. (The Rixians don't have rescue probes.)
If you don't prepare any way of retrieving your pods, the enemy
might just prepare a bomber run of his own, and have no resistance
to go up against, causing major, if not lethal damage to your
team.
